We’re celebrating 10 years of The Joshua Tree House and reminiscing on a decade well spent. We were blissfully unaware of the joys that would unfold back in 2014 when we took a National Parks road trip through Joshua Tree National Park and Saguaro National Park. Something shifted within us after this trip—we were about to welcome so much change into our lives.
We felt drawn back to the Mojave Desert and took a leap of faith in purchasing our first home, The House – the oldest house on the market in Joshua Tree, CA in 2015!
In 2016 we fell in love with designing spaces for people to immerse themselves in nature and purchased two more properties in Joshua Tree: The Hacienda and Casita! We made the decision to move full time to JT with new hopes and dreams.
At this point in time it’s 2017 and we’ve been living in the desert for 2 years. We wrote a book: At Home In Joshua Tree sharing our experiences with life in the desert, how we got here, design mantras, sunrise, morning, midday, afternoon, sunset and evenings here in the high desert.
In 2018 we released our book! We saw a glimpse into our future when we found an abandoned in bordering Saguaro National Park: The JTH Tucson. We bought it this same year along with our Cabin in Joshua Tree.
We spent the year renovating JTH Tucson (the inn) and had our grand opening 2019!
Covid closed our doors in 2020, it was simply a test of how badly we wanted this and we learned how to make it through. In 2021 we bought land in Marfa, TX as we were struggling with starting our family. In 2022 we decided to slow down to focus bringing this dream to life. We put the inn in Marfa on hold, opened our Creosote Suite at the inn and launched our Souvenir Shop all while falling more and more in love with life as 3.
In 2023 we opened the Cabin in Joshua Tree and finished a dream project, a cute shed for our JTH Tucson Team.
In 2024 we grew our family, we’re now 4 with two beautiful little girls! We also started renovating our family home and opened the Bath House at the inn.
It’s now 2025 and we’re so grateful to be designing spaces for creative souls who need a pause in nature…here’s to the next 10! To celebrate you being here with us through it all, we’re so excited to share a giveaway for a 2-night stay to celebrate!
