We’re thrilled to feature Jack Symes for our next rotation of the New Moon playlist. Jack is a mustachioed California native who has spent time living and writing in both NYC and LA. His songs catch you immediately with deep melodic textures and a plain-english lyrical style that feels familiar, yet profound. His songs seem…
As we look forward to a post-pandemic world where we can gather freely again with our friends and larger groups, we’re left reflecting on the isolation of the past year. For us, the simple pleasures of a good book, a nostalgic recipe or a new song have all helped provide little moments of escape in…
When we began designing JTH Tucson, we couldn’t have been luckier that Café Appliances had just released their gorgeous collection with a focus on design. As soon as we saw it, we knew it would work perfectly with this old southwestern inn—the matte white finish along with brushed bronze hardware had us swooning. In the…
Hugh Norris Trail in Saguaro National Park is a moderate out and back trail named after a respected Tohono O’odham police chief, and is our absolute favorite trail on the west side of the park. The trailhead is only a few minute drive from JTH Tucson, and though it’s 9.8 miles in total it can…

With recent fires and clear warnings from the earth that climate change is happening, the reality of losing the ability to even see the stars is jolting. We’ve been finding gratitude in the small…
We’re so very excited to share that we now have Lightroom presets available for both desktop and mobile. 🎉 Created in collaboration with Modern Market, our JTH Preset Collection is rooted in a love for desert landscapes and natural interiors. It’s the perfect collection of ten presets for anyone who is looking to capture and…
Events of the past few months have been a catalyst for deep reflection. The global pandemic and the further uncovering of systemic racism still present in our country today weighs heavily on our minds. As such, we find ourselves actively pursuing how we can be more than a place for all to enjoy. We have…
Strange times indeed. We’re all dealing with the difficulty of navigating these uncharted waters, but we’re comforted by the fact that we’re all in this together. Knowing that music can be a potent salve in times of crisis, we wanted to put together a new Spotify playlist to help out in a small way. The…
Valley View Overlook Trail in Saguaro National Park is an easy out and back trail that we especially love for spotting all kinds of native desert plants. The trailhead is only a few minute drive from JTH Tucson, and the trail itself takes only about 30 minutes making it a perfect quick adventure into…
When we found our dream abandoned inn bordering Saguaro National Park, it already felt like tile heaven. In some areas old carpeting had been removed, but the original Saltillo tile remained along with various Talavera tiles creating patterned borders on the many fireplaces. As we brought JTH Tucson back to life, we loved the idea…
