A Tour of Communal Spaces at JTH Tucson

jth posada-13

When we designed JTH Tucson, we dreamt of creating more than just a place to stay, but an immersive experience. Inspired by our travels in Europe, Morocco, Mexico and Southeast Asia we imagined an oasis that offered both privacy and connection. It brings us so much joy to see this once abandoned space filled with life.

Each of our six suites offers a private (and unique) escape. For the best experience here, we recommend spending some time enjoying our communal areas. With 5,000+ sq ft of indoor common space and 38 acres of desert landscape, there’s so much to explore!

Indoor Common Spaces

Living Room/ Bar

For many of our guests, the living room is their first glimpse of JTH Tucson (lovingly nicknamed Posada), as it’s located right through the front door. The communal living room features plenty of cozy seating options with a fireplace, record player, games, and movie screen and projector for our guests to enjoy. There’s even a BYO bar located here!

The chef’s kitchen is located right around the corner from the living room.

Kitchen

The main kitchen has all of the cookware a chef would need to prepare a world class dinner. (And we do offer an option to book a meal with a private chef here). Our Agave and Creosote Suites both offer a full kitchen, and our other suites have kitchenettes. All of our guests are also welcome to use our main kitchen which is also where the ice maker can be found.

The main shared kitchen also features a large fireplace with lounge chairs, a café table seating area, and an open entryway to our dining room.

Dining Room

The indoor dining table has seating for 6, with a view overlooking our watering hole (a prime place for spotting wildlife—especially on summer mornings and evenings). In the open pantry behind the dining table you’ll find dish-ware, serving bowls and cutting boards as well locally made tea, popcorn and other staples to make staying here feel just like home (but better).

From here, follow the path down the hallway and up the stairs to find our communal yoga room.

Yoga Room

Our yoga room is a serene space with picture window views for our guests to continue their daily practice (we provide yoga mats). We also offer add on experiences with vendors in this space,  including yoga, sound baths, tarot reading, and massage.

Outdoor Common Spaces

Rooftop

The rooftop features several areas to hang out while enjoying an open desert and mountain view. It’s a great spot to watch the sunset! There’s a cozy sectional couch, chaise lounges for sun and moon bathing, and a small dining area. There’s also a rooftop dining patio with a charcoal grill and a large picnic table that seats up to 14.

Outdoor Living Area

Connected to our main living room, and below the rooftop, you’ll find this tucked away spot. It’s fully shaded and surrounded by greenery, which makes it the perfect spot for a midday lunch.

Canyon Pool

Our beautiful pool is one of a kind. In fact, the original builder of JTH Tucson (Merv Larson) crafted our pool after a real canyon in Tucson! The pool deck has a couch, swinging chairs and loungers, as well as a fire pit.

Hot Springs Style Hot Tub/ Front Garden

Located in our front garden and surrounded by palm trees, our hot tub was made to resemble a natural hot springs. Also in our front garden are a selection of cacti (including a couple of rare boojum trees!), some dining tables, and a hammock.

Trails

There are several trails to explore crossing our 40 acre property. One of them even leads to this beautiful labyrinth!

Thanks for joining us on a little tour of our common areas, we hope to host you for a stay soon!
