The JTH Artist Residency Returns—Applications Now Open

cover

Our very first artist residency happened back in 2016 in Joshua Tree—a week of unhurried making in the desert, born out of a simple love for that kind of time. A decade later, we’re keeping up with the tradition.

For the second year running, the entire inn at JTH Tucson will be given over entirely to artists for a full week. July 17–24, 2026. Seven artists, immersed in the Sonoran Desert at the height of monsoon season—when the creosote is sharp after rain, the prickly pear is ripening, and the sky puts on a show every evening.

We’re looking for artists whose work is rooted in the natural world. The week includes private accommodation at the inn, a dedicated workspace, full access to our grounds, time in the bath house, and a welcome dinner together under the stars. Mostly though, it’s unstructured time—long mornings, slow observation, space to make things without the usual noise.

The desert has a way of stripping things down to what matters. That’s the whole idea.

Applications are open now. The deadline is May 19th. If you know an artist who should apply, please pass this along.
